Minimal Example Wago750 402
Complete Hardware + Software Walkthrough
The WAGO 750-402 Display Example is a minimal demonstration showing how to display digital inputs from a WAGO 750-402 EtherCAT terminal using the QiTech Machine Framework.
It represents the simplest possible hardware interaction in the system:
Displaying digital inputs in the QiTech Control Dashboard.
- WAGO 2787-2144 EtherCAT Power Supply
- WAGO 750-354 EtherCAT Coupler
- WAGO 750-602 EtherCAT Power Terminal
- WAGO 750-402 EtherCAT Terminal (4-channel digital input)
- WAGO 750-600 EtherCAT End Module
- WAGO 852-1322 Ethernet Switch
- 24V DC lab power supply (AC/DC adapter)
- Linux PC (Ubuntu/Debian recommended)
- Standard Ethernet cables
- Flat screwdriver
See Device Example Basics for software prerequisites.

⚠️ Always disconnect power before wiring. See Device Example Basics for the safe wiring procedure.
Wire the Ethernet switch:
- Red wire (+24V) → PWR+
- Black wire (0V) → RPS−
Wire the 750-354 EtherCAT Coupler:
- Red wire (+24V)
- Yellow wire (0V)
Slide the 750-602 EtherCAT Power Terminal onto the right side of the 750-354 Coupler until it locks.
Wire as follows:
- Green wire (Ground) → Terminal 4
- Red wire (+24V) from 750-602 → Terminal 2
- Black wire (0V) from 750-602 → Terminal 3
- Red wire (+24V) from 750-354 → Terminal 6
- Yellow wire (0V) from 750-354 → Terminal 7
Slide the 750-402 EtherCAT Terminal onto the right side of the 750-602 until it locks.
Wire from the 24V DC lab power supply → Terminal 1.
Slide the 750-600 EtherCAT End Module onto the right side of the 750-402 Terminal until it locks.
No wiring required.
Connect the 2787-2144 power supply to a power outlet.
- PC → 852-1322 Ethernet Switch
- Switch → 750-354 EtherCAT Coupler
See Device Example Basics to install and run the software, then return here for the device-specific demo steps.
After backend and frontend are running, you should see:
- WAGO 750-354 (Coupler)
- WAGO Module (Digital Input Terminal)
Steps:
- Click Assign on the WAGO module
- Select Digital Input Machine V1
- Enter a serial number (must not be 0)
- Click Write

Navigate to:
Machines → DigitalInputMachine
Apply 15V–30V (24V recommended) to Terminal 1.
Expected behavior:
- The terminal LED lights up
- The input state is shown in the Control software
