what known bug is that and how does it relate to WLED code? edit: that is not a bug in WLED but in HA, which is stated in the issue linked, so please raise this issue with HA. |
The bug is almost 2 years old - I have some doubts it will be resolved in the foreseeable future. In the meantime this could save time for many HA/WLED users. |

As HA team repeatedly ignored any request for improving WLED/HA integration I do not think it is WLED team's responsibility to inform users about HA issues. |

if you want to add this to WLED documentation, link to the issue on HA github and ask users to go there and request a fix. Anything else is pointless. |
I do not insist on having the text in the documentation as I am basically "sorted out". The idea behind the commit was just a better (new) user experience. I am aware this is not WLED's fault but it's the final result that matter. Not that the link to the HA issue was included so that the discussion could continue there. |

I do get the point of the addition and it would be helpful for the time being, but it should point out this is a HA issue and also point to where to go to have it fixed instead of perpetually promoting a workaround. |
Does the rephrased version sound better? There is a known issue (#3628) where presets created in the WLED web UI do not appear in Home Assistant - the preset list can remain empty. This bug originates in Home Assistant itself (not in WLED or the WLED integration). Reloading the WLED integration in Home Assistant will restore the preset list permanently, provided the preset list is not modified afterwards. Please report this behavior to the Home Assistant developers or add your details to the relevant issue so it can be fixed. |
