Release Notes: vks-image-builder (v1.34.8 Update)

This release introduces support for Kubernetes v1.34.8 for vSphere Kubernetes Release (VKr). This update focuses on artifact alignment for the latest patch and critical reliability fixes for the image-building pipeline.

🐞 Bug Fixes

• Windows NSSM Reliability: Resolved a race condition by increasing the registry timeout for Windows NSSM installation, ensuring stable Windows node builds.
• SSH Proxy Resolution: Pinned the openssh-client version to prevent breaking changes in SSH proxying during the build phase.
• Build Pipeline Stability: * Fixed YAML multiline string parsing errors in configuration templates.
• Corrected ovftool execution failures in the build container.
• Injected missing Windows-specific environment variables into the build container context.

⚠️ Deprecation & Migration

Note: The 1.34 release line is the final minor version supported by this repository.
Starting with Kubernetes v1.35, image building will transition to the new Image Baker tool. Users should plan to migrate their custom image workflows to the new platform following the 1.34 lifecycle.
