Summary of Changes

Hello @sugatmahanti, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request modernizes the type annotations within the entrypoint module, adopting the contemporary Python 3.10+ syntax for union types and built-in generics. This change enhances code readability and maintainability by simplifying type declarations, contributing to an ongoing codebase modernization effort. Additionally, it includes minor corrections for two typographical errors.

Highlights

  • Modernized Type Annotations: Updated type hints across the entrypoint module to use the more concise | operator for union types and built-in generic types (e.g., list, dict) instead of typing.Union, typing.Optional, typing.List, typing.Dict. This aligns with Python 3.10+ syntax.
  • Removed Redundant Imports: Eliminated imports for Dict, List, Optional, and Union from the typing module as they are no longer needed with the modernized syntax.
  • Typo Corrections: Fixed two minor typos in comments and docstrings for improved clarity and accuracy.

Code Review

This pull request modernizes the type annotations in the entrypoint modules by using the | operator for unions and built-in generic types like list and dict. The changes are well-executed and improve code readability. I've also noted the typo fixes, which are appreciated. My review includes a couple of suggestions to further improve consistency and clarity, mainly related to ensuring type hints are specific and that docstrings are updated to match the new type hints.
