AmazonCompareIT

AmazonCompareIT is a modern Django web application that allows users to compare Amazon products side-by-side by simply pasting product URLs. The app scrapes product details and presents them in a beautiful, user-friendly interface.

Setup Instructions

  1. Clone the repository:
    git clone <your-repo-url>
    cd amazoncompareit
  2. Create and activate a virtual environment:
    python -m venv venv
    # On Windows:
    venv\Scripts\activate
    # On Mac/Linux:
    source venv/bin/activate
  3. Install dependencies:
    pip install -r requirements.txt
  4. Apply migrations:
    python manage.py migrate
  5. Run the development server:
    python manage.py runserver
  6. Access the app: Open your browser and go to http://127.0.0.1:8000/

Usage

  • Compare Products: Go to the Services page, paste two Amazon product URLs, and click Compare.
  • Register/Login: Create an account or log in to access comparison features.
  • Contact: Use the contact form to send a message to the site owner.

Notes

  • Selenium: The app uses Selenium and ChromeDriverManager. Chrome must be installed on your system.
  • Static Files: Custom CSS is in static/css/style.css.
