Respira for WordPress, in Cowork

Respira for Cowork

Edit live WordPress sites from inside Cowork. Tell Claude what you want changed and Respira routes the edit to the right page builder, snapshots before writing, and validates that the page actually rendered correctly. Sixteen page builders supported (Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi 4, Divi 5, Bricks, Oxygen Classic, Oxygen 6, Beaver Builder, Breakdance, Flatsome, Brizy, Visual Composer, WPBakery, Spectra, Kadence Blocks, GenerateBlocks), plus SeedProd audit-only. One-click rollback always available, no FTP or database access needed.

Built for the agency owners, designers, and freelancers who manage WordPress sites for clients and want to delegate the editing work to Claude without giving up control.

Current version: v1.1.2. Live at respira.press/cowork.

What you can do

Edit a page without opening WP admin. "Update the headline on my client's homepage to say 'spring collection arriving' instead of 'new arrivals'." Cowork takes that sentence and Respira finds the right element, snapshots the page, makes the edit, and verifies the new headline is actually rendering on the live site. Total time: about thirty seconds.

Migrate a client site between page builders. A client wants to leave Elementor for Bricks (or Divi for Gutenberg, or WPBakery for Bricks, or any of sixteen supported migration paths). Tell Claude which site, which target builder, and Respira works through the pages section by section, builds native modules in the new builder, and validates each one. Migration work that used to take a week happens in an afternoon.

Audit a site before a client meeting. "Run a full health check on acme.com and tell me what to fix first." Respira returns a prioritized list covering SEO, AI search visibility (how the site shows up in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini), accessibility, mobile experience, technical debt, and WooCommerce health. Most of the obvious problems have one-click fixes attached.

Clean up a media library in one pass. "Optimize all the images on this site." Respira rewrites missing alt text in the site's voice, compresses oversized images, and standardizes dimensions for performance. Each change is snapshotted, so anything can be rolled back if it doesn't look right.

Manage ten client sites from one conversation. You are working in Cowork with ten WordPress sites connected. Mention "the testimonials page on the bakery site" and Respira knows which install you mean. Every edit across every site is snapshotted; /respira:undo-last-change rolls back the most recent change on whichever site you just touched. The multi-site context follows the conversation naturally.

What's included

Eight slash commands for the most common workflows. Thirty auto-activating skills that fire when relevant, including sixteen builder-to-builder migration paths. A visual reviewer sub-agent that opens the page in your browser after every edit and shows you what changed. Full access to all 200+ Respira MCP tools through the bundled MCP server (@respira/wordpress-mcp-server). All sixteen supported page builders: Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi 4, Divi 5, Bricks, Oxygen Classic, Oxygen 6, Beaver Builder, Breakdance, Flatsome, Brizy, Visual Composer, WPBakery, Spectra, Kadence Blocks, and GenerateBlocks (plus SeedProd, audit-only).

Install

Claude Desktop (Cowork). In Claude, open Cowork > Customize > Plugins, click the Personal tab, then + > Add marketplace > Add from a repository and enter respira-press/cowork-plugin-wordpress. Click Sync, then Install. When the "This plugin includes local MCP servers" notice appears, click Continue.

Claude Code (terminal or VS Code). Run /plugin marketplace add respira-press/cowork-plugin-wordpress, then /plugin install respira.

Then run /respira:connect-site.

Note: the Anthropic / Partners marketplace tabs will not list Respira until the directory listing clears Anthropic review. The Personal route above is the live path today. (/plugin is not available on claude.ai/code web.)

Setup

After installing, run /respira:connect-site and follow the prompts. You will need:

  • A WordPress site you can install plugins on.
  • A Respira account. Sign up at https://respira.press for a 7 day Maker trial. No credit card required.

The connect command walks you through:

  1. installing the WordPress plugin on your site.
  2. downloading your config.json from the respira.press dashboard.
  3. dropping it into ~/.respira/config.json on your computer.
  4. a connection test.

Cowork shares the same ~/.respira/config.json file as the Claude Desktop .mcpb, so if you have Claude Desktop already configured you are already set up. Open a new Cowork chat and it picks up the file automatically.

Designed for someone who has never used a terminal. No key paste in chat, no cowork-config.json to maintain alongside the main config.

How it works

Respira sits between Claude and your WordPress sites. When you ask Claude to do something WordPress related in Cowork (edit a page, audit a site, add a testimonials section), Respira routes the request through the right page builder, validates the change against the live rendered output, and reports back.

Every edit is snapshotted before it runs. Restore is one command, always.

The thirty skills, in plain language

All skills auto activate when the conversation matches their description. You do not have to invoke them.

Operational guardrails (5)

  • WordPress editing safety: enforces snapshot before write, render validation after write, and honest reporting if anything is partial.
  • Page builder detection: figures out which of the 12 supported builders the page uses, before any edit.
  • Multi site context: keeps track of which site you are working on across many connected client sites.
  • Respira workflow: sets the visible, patient, honest posture Respira aims for.
  • Respira setup assistant: walks first time users through plugin install, API key, and connection test.

Site intelligence and audits (7)

  • Site onboarding: connects a new WordPress site and produces a one page briefing.
  • WordPress site DNA: profiles the theme, builders, plugins, performance posture, and audience signals.
  • Mobile experience report: catches mobile only layout, performance, and tap target problems.
  • Technical debt audit: inventories deprecated plugins, dead options, and unsafe patterns the site has accumulated.
  • WooCommerce health check: scans cart, checkout, taxes, and product pages for the patterns that hurt conversion.
  • SEO and AEO amplifier: targets both classic search and answer engine visibility (citations in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini).
  • Internal link builder: proposes high signal internal links based on the site's actual content map.

Content and assets (2)

  • WordPress AI image optimizer: rewrites alt text, compresses, and standardizes image dimensions across the media library.
  • Content portability: exports and imports posts and pages between sites with their builder data preserved.

Builder to builder migrations (16)

  • migrate-elementor-to-bricks
  • migrate-elementor-to-breakdance
  • migrate-elementor-to-oxygen
  • migrate-elementor-to-gutenberg
  • migrate-divi-to-bricks
  • migrate-divi-to-breakdance
  • migrate-divi-to-gutenberg
  • migrate-beaver-builder-to-bricks
  • migrate-beaver-builder-to-gutenberg
  • migrate-wpbakery-to-bricks
  • migrate-wpbakery-to-gutenberg
  • migrate-visual-composer-to-gutenberg
  • migrate-thrive-architect-to-gutenberg
  • migrate-brizy-to-gutenberg
  • migrate-oxygen-to-bricks
  • migrate-oxygen-to-breakdance

Each migration skill knows the source builder's data shape and the target builder's native modules, applies the conversion section by section, and validates each step before continuing.

The eight commands, in plain language

Command What it does
/respira:connect-site Connect a WordPress site for the first time.
/respira:edit-page Edit any page on a connected site.
