🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Python 3.13+
• uv - Modern Python package manager
• OpenAI API Key - From OpenAI Platform
• WeatherAPI Key - From WeatherAPI
• NewsAPI Key - From NewsAPI

Installation

1. Clone the repository

   git clone https://github.com/rasheed1306/tool-calling-chatbot.git
   cd tool-calling-chatbot

2. Install dependencies with uv

   uv sync

3. Set up environment variables

   cp .env.example .env

   Edit .env with your API keys:

   OPENAI_API_KEY=your-openai-api-key-here
   WEATHER_API_KEY=your-weatherapi-key-here
   NEWS_API_KEY=your-newsapi-key-here

4. Run the chatbot

   uv run python src/main.py

🎯 Usage

Interactive Commands

• Regular chat: Ask questions or make requests naturally
• clear: Clear conversation history
• q: Quit the application
