Hi there, I'm Pedro Savelis 🪽

Tech Lead & Solution Architect | Staff Engineering | Scalable Backends, Distributed Systems & Performance Architecture

I'm a Software Engineer based in Santos, São Paulo, Brazil, with deep experience building scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems. I specialize in high-performance backends, clean architectures (Hexagonal / DDD) that are a pleasure to extend, operate, and reason about in production, and the practical application of performance engineering principles that make systems faster and more predictable under load.

Currently Tech Lead at 57Blocks (remote, U.S.-based), where I lead engineering efforts on scalable backend infrastructure, protocol integrations, and high-integrity financial systems. I also serve as Founder & CTO (advisory) at LeetGaming.PRO, building high-scale gaming platforms featuring replay analysis, skill-based matchmaking, and production-grade backend services.

🛠️ Tech Stack & Principles

Languages
Go (primary) • TypeScript/Node.js • C#/.NET • Rust (perf-critical paths)

Core Expertise

  • Scalable Backends & Distributed Systems (gRPC, REST, event-driven, microservices, horizontal scaling)
  • High-Performance Engineering & Mechanical Sympathy — cache-line awareness, false-sharing avoidance, low-latency patterns, profiling & benchmarking
  • Clean Architecture & Quality (Hexagonal / Ports & Adapters, Domain-Driven Design, ruthless code reviews, deterministic builds, observability-first)
  • Financial & Payments Systems (cross-border flows, compliance engines, settlement & reconciliation patterns, resilience at scale)
  • Resilience & Observability (circuit breakers, backpressure, rate limiting, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Jaeger, structured logging)

Tooling & Practices
Kubernetes • Docker • Terraform • PostgreSQL • Redis • Kafka/NATS • thoughtful integration of agentic AI harnesses, token-efficient Graphify + Qdrant workflows, and custom workflow creation to accelerate exploration and validation while keeping core engineering judgment, mechanical sympathy, and production discipline at the center.

💼 Experience & Leadership

  • Tech Lead, Backend & Platform Engineering — 57Blocks: Owning architecture decisions, delivery quality, and technical direction for scalable infrastructure and financial system integrations. Multiple internal recognitions for impact and leadership (2026).
  • Founder & CTO (advisory) — LeetGaming.PRO: Architecting and building the full backend platform (Go/gRPC replay services, analysis pipelines, multi-region matchmaking) for competitive esports (CS2, Valorant, LoL and others).
  • Previous Roles: Senior Backend Engineer at Remessa Online (cross-border payments platform and Ripple integration), Telly TV (Go/Node microservices for high-throughput IoT streaming), plus earlier contributions in insurance systems, loyalty platforms, and entertainment backends.

Cross-industry track record centered on production discipline: systems that stay fast, observable, and easy to evolve even as requirements grow.

🚀 Featured Projects & Open Source

  • enterprise-blockchain — 29★ — Practical TypeScript reference for integration patterns, adapters, and operational examples applied to financial workflows and settlement scenarios (hexagonal architecture, quality gates, and runnable modules published as npm package @psavelis/enterprise-blockchain).
  • LeetGaming.PRO & replay-api (GitHub orgs) — Production Go backend for esports replay ingestion, analytics pipelines, and matchmaking services (multi-region deployment, gRPC/REST APIs).
  • mechanical-sympathy-poc — Demonstration of hardware-aware performance techniques applied to low-latency order and transaction processing.
  • goa-pos-poc — Clean design-first API implementation showing how transactional services should be specified and generated.
  • Additional repositories focused on Go performance optimization & benchmarking, compliance engines, and fast local development environments.

See my pinned repositories above for the current selection.

✍️ Writing, Speaking & Community

I write and share practical, battle-tested content focused on real engineering challenges:

  • Medium — Deep dives into architecture trade-offs, performance engineering, and building maintainable systems at scale.
  • DEV.to — Articles on resilience patterns, mechanical sympathy, clean architecture in practice, and disciplined ways to harness modern tools without losing foundational rigor.

Active open-source contributor and mentor. Strong believer in elevating engineering standards through clear patterns, honest discussions, and production-ready examples. Always open to conversations that move the craft forward.

🤝 Let's Connect

Open to thoughtful discussions on scalable backend architecture, performance engineering, payments infrastructure, or how to keep complex systems maintainable over time while intelligently leveraging modern tools.

Thanks for visiting my profile! If you're building systems that need to be fast, reliable, and a joy to maintain — I'd love to hear what you're working on. 🪽

Old-school software engineering foundations (DDD, Hexagonal, Mechanical Sympathy, ruthless quality) deepened and accelerated by thoughtful modern tooling.
