on your Kibana console are you able to use the _sql endpoint?

same issue here with latest opensearchc(2.18.0)

I resolved this issue by installing opensearch-sql plugin.

Here is my command for opensearch 2.18.0
opensearch-plugin install https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/opensearch/plugin/opensearch-sql-plugin/2.18.0.0/opensearch-sql-plugin-2.18.0.0.zip

Correct URI is odelasticsearch+https://{username}:{password}@{yourHost}:9200/
If you use self signed certificate, please use this URI. elasticsearch+https://{username}:{password}@{yourHost}:9200/?verify_certs=False
