Overcaption is a free subtitle studio for macOS and Windows that works fully offline.
Install on macOS (Apple Silicon):
brew install --cask overcaption/tap/overcaption
The app updates itself; brew upgrade is not needed. Bugs and feature requests go to the main repo.
