Summary
In Codex desktop on Windows, Browser Use continues to report a saved permission block for a local development site after its visible site-permission overrides were removed.
Steps observed
- Browser Use reported a denied permission for a localhost origin.
- Set Browsing to “Always allow” for that exact origin.
- Keep Downloads set to “Requires approval”.
- Remove the visible site-specific overrides, leaving the defaults at “Requires approval”.
- Make one explicit, user-authorized attempt through the built-in browser.
Actual result
Browser Use still reports:
“A saved user permission setting blocks this action.”
Read-only inspection also found the same origin retained in a session-scoped origins.denied entry. We have not established how this entry should be cleared through the UI.
Expected result
A supported way to revoke the denial for this origin in the existing conversation and return to normal approval prompts, without broadening permissions.
Safety
No permission files were edited, and no alternate browser or other bypass was used.
