What is the current status of this project?

I was just wondering what's the current status of this project because I see lots of issues that has been waiting for a long time so I thought that maybe this project is no longer active and kind of deprecated?

So to provide an update on this, not a lot of features are planned for this specific controller on our side. But also we aren't really blocking changes to this, feel free to propose PRs and ask us for reviews by pinging us on CNCF slack on here directly :)

This controller is pretty stable already, we do use it in a lot of our environments. I'll raise a PR to update deps and add depbot to this repo to allow it to be updated frequently and avoid CVEs #149

What we've realized is that this controller is a bit limited and does not really suit our needs. So we've created a new Thanos Operator to tackle the problems we were having, which has a similar and more capable controller built in https://github.com/thanos-community/thanos-operator.
