Hi, after some trouble troubleshooting remote control problems, I added the exception occurring on the heartbeat to the log message.
While I was in the code, I also changed it so it didn't catch Exception directly - I don't know if catching runtime exceptions in addition to the checked IO exception was intentional or not, so I left it in, using a new method to put the common code in one place.
I will take no offense if you ignore my pull request :)
