TypeScript 7 cannot be adopted yet: it ships no programmatic API (expected in 7.1), which vue-tsc and typescript-eslint depend on. The Storybook build also fails with it. TypeScript 6 is the last release with that API and is supported by the current tooling. Replace the unused baseUrl, deprecated in TypeScript 6, with an explicit rootDir, which TypeScript 6 requires for declaration output. Emitted declarations are identical to TypeScript 5.9. allowImportingTsExtensions, inherited from @vue/tsconfig, requires noEmit or emitDeclarationOnly. The config disables noEmit and the build script passed emitDeclarationOnly only on the command line, so editors reading tsconfig.app.json reported TS5096. Emitted declarations are unchanged. TypeScript 6 enables noUncheckedSideEffectImports by default, so the side-effect import of main.css needs the vite/client declarations referenced by env.d.ts. The container build did not copy that file, so type generation failed with TS2882. Assisted-by: Claude Code:Opus 5.5
