This pull request updates the CHANGELOG.md file to add the release notes for version 1.8.0 and removes duplicate and placeholder changelog entries that were cluttering the file.
Changes:
- Added version 1.8.0 release entry dated 2026-01-18 documenting Mermaid diagram support and Copilot instructions
- Removed duplicate changelog entries for versions 1.0.0 through 1.5.0 (appeared 3-4 times each)
- Cleaned up placeholder entries (n.n.n versions) and pre-release entries that shouldn't be in the final changelog

Remove the blank line at the beginning of the file. The changelog should start directly with the version entry to maintain consistency with standard changelog formatting.
