EnableVirtualSpace is true with virtual selection - caret offset is not correct when replacing a virtual selection

If:
(a) EnableVirtualSpace is true
(b) The caret is in virtual space, beyond the physical end of the line
(c) A selection is made in the virtual space
(d) The user types a character or pastes in some text

Then:
The caret offset moves to the left to the physical end of the line.

Expected that the caret offset would move to the 'prioir' end of the typed character or pasted text.
