Using V14 (d&d 5e)
prototype is not linked to the actors created.
** Not sure if this is a break or new feature **
Steps:
-
Create an actor
-
Drag the actor to the map
-
Modify the actor name (or any aspect), and it only affects the map actor, the prototype remains the same as it was created
-
Create an encounter
-
Drag the prototype actor to the encounter
-
Using the place actor link add the actor copy to the map.
-
Modify the actor name (or any aspect), and it only affects the map actor, the prototype remains the same as it was created as does the actor in the encounter.
-
Now modify the actor name (or any aspect), in the encounter and it modifies the main prototype and the encounter
-
Now add the encounter actor to the map and it has the original name as it was created back in step 1.
The dragging of an actor to an encounter should act like the dragging of the actor to the map.
Work Flow:
- Create a guard npc
- Create an encounter
- Add guard prototype (modify it as needed - name, equipment ect) ex: Guards with leather armor and short swords (set qty to 5)
- Add guard prototype (modify it as needed - name, equipment, etc) ex: Guards with chainmail and long swords. (set qty to 2)
Now when I add to map from the encounter, it will add 5 Guards with leather, and 2 guards with chainmail. The prototype remains unchanged.
