useTemplateRefreturns aHTMLElement | nullref which has an incompatible type with the previousHTMLElement | undefined.This PR adds
| nullto the allowed type of the parent ref to make it compatible. This is still backwards compatible with the old ref style too. As far I could tell, no functional changes needed to be made to support it.
