I really like the idea, but i think always showing this bar will confuse users currently using the preview instance.
My proposal would be to modify this so that the input bar at the top only appears if no stacEndpoint argument is passed in the url.
That would mean someone just navigating to the preview instance can write their own endpoint, but if we load the preview instance pre-configured the option to load another endpoint is not shown

I agree with @santilland on an amazing work but also the input field should be only a fallback in case no stacEndpoint is passed. We should then add the link to this preview instance to our docs to let users know that they can preview their catalogs this way.
There is interest to have this finished and deployed for "lean catalog preview pages" without the full vitepress pages wrapper around it.
