Player entering waiting state during video playback #228
Having the player entering waiting state during the video playback causes issues like asserting video duration and audio tests. Understanding this behavior enables us to properly handle it and maybe resolve other related issues.
This issue tracks any issue related to the player entering waiting state
There needs to be a description somewhere of this problem, e.g. in a wiki page.
As I understand it, there are two buffers in MSE playback, one buffer is in browser memory and is filled from the network by the test calling XHR or fetch. The second buffer is the MSE source buffer. I understand the uncertainty around the size of the MSE source buffer but why doesn't the test keep filling the buffer in browser memory?
