OVERVIEW: Symphony Repo

#Symphony Repo The symphony repo appliance is deployed to provide a local package repository - machines within the environment are configured to install from symphony-repo, rather than public sources. This allows us to both ensure a consistent platform across the environment, as well as speed up install time whilst saving external bandwidth.

The symphony-repo appliance uses the Pulp software package. Administrators are able to sync external repositories to the local Pulp server, for example Ceph or Lustre repos, CentOS6/7 packages etc.

The symphony-repo appliance must reside on the following networks:

  • Build (eth0)

##Useful tips

  • The symphony-repo appliance includes a script to assist with importing and synchronising repositories - to import the intellustre repository - run:

$ /var/lib/symphony/repo/bin/import_pulp.sh intellustre

The list of available repositories can be seen in the /var/lib/symphony/repo/bin/import_pulp.sh script.

  • To view running synchronisations

$ pulp-admin login -u admin

$ pulp-admin tasks list
