Plain text copy

Right now, I have to go through TeXForm to get something I can paste into something else. It would be useful to have plain text copy functionality.

Could you, please, give an example of what you are trying to archive?

Any text in the cell is usually a valid input from of pure WL. Sometimes it comes with so-called decorative comments which help the editor to display nicely fractions and etc

like

(*FB[*)((1)(*,*)/(*,*)(2))(*]FB*)

you can trim all of them if you select a code and pick or call Copy InputForm from the command palette (Ctrl/Cmd+P) then it becomes just:

1/2

Another options are related to the entire cell or group of cells:

TeXForm is usually used for generating TeX-compatible code.

I wasn't aware the command palette existed, but it doesn't solve my problem. I want t^3 instead of Power[t,3] for instance, so that it can be accepted in other tools that do not understand Mathematica syntax. The TeX form is actually more useful in that respect.

Then probably Copy as context menu item could help here. If we implement it in the way, that it automatically applies CForm or TeXForm to selected expression and copies the result to a clipboard.

I believe somewhat similar is done in Mathematica.

I could not find some form in WL, which preserved ^ except for TeXForm. However, CForm can also be useful
