Describe the solution you'd like
Please add an option to disable these menu items, similar to the favorites option in the sidebar. This would make the user interface clearer.

This does not seem like a sufficient improvement for the UI to be worth the time and settings clutter to add the option. Is there another reason rather than make the interface clearer?
