* new automatic revert article - general updates to other docs * User do/change indicators (#396) Document unsaved change indicators (Tabular Editor 3.27.0) New "Unsaved change indicators" article covering the TOM Explorer and Properties view indicators, the Show changes filters, Revert and Restore, deleted-object tracking, the related preferences and the scripting surface. Updated the TOM Explorer, Properties view, Preferences and C# scripts articles, and re-shot the screenshots so the toolbars show the new Show changes button. * Policies reference: new registry key layout, Enterprise policies, ADM… (#397) Policies reference: new registry key layout, Enterprise policies, ADMX templates Documents the administrator policy changes shipping in Tabular Editor 3.27: - Registry keys: Software\Policies\Tabular Editor ApS (shared) with TE3 and TECLI product subkeys, read from both hives (HKLM wins per value); the legacy Kapacity key keeps working. - Value types (DWORD, REG_SZ, REG_MULTI_SZ) and the six-line read order. - General policies (available in every edition, incl. the previously undocumented DisableAiChat, DisableMcpServer and RequireMcpAccessToken) and Enterprise policies (permission ceilings, provider lock and allowlists, audit log, organization Custom Instructions, MCP shaping) with the fail-closed rule for non-Enterprise editions. - The "Managed by your organization" panel, the audit log, and how to import the administrative templates that ship under the Policies folder. - applies_to: partial for TE2 (legacy key only), Desktop and Business (general policies only), full for Enterprise; new Tabular Editor CLI entry (Windows only). * Furtherupdates to docs * Add house border to new unsaved-changes screenshots Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> * newest changes * updated screenshots * updated screenshots * add screnshot * McpAutoStart policy removed * mcp server docs * update mcp ai docs * Updated docs * new screenshots external changes * update * Document the BlockUnsafeScripts policy and the 3.27 changes merged since the last docs pass Policies reference: new "Scripts and macros" section for BlockUnsafeScripts (what is refused, what a refusal looks like, blocked macros, the Enterprise gate and the fail-closed behaviour), a note that it is not in the administrative templates, and CLI coverage. C# Scripts and Creating macros get the script author's view of the same rule, and Security and privacy points at it. The audit log is documented as an Enterprise Edition feature, with the folder it is written to, following the gate added in PR 4588. AI Assistant: organization-wide Custom Instructions and DisableUserCustomInstructions. MCP Server: permissions are set in the server dialog, tooltips and policy-locked dropdowns, and agent calls no longer stop on a message box. File > Revert is now File > Reload from disk / Reload from server everywhere it was named, and Compare editions gains an Administrator controls section, since the editions now differ in more than modeling restrictions. * Policies reference: BlockUnsafeScripts is in the administrative templates Follows PR 4589, which adds the policy to TabularEditorApS.admx/.adml. Replaces the note saying it had to be set by hand with where it appears in the Group Policy editor, and records that the Enterprise policies remove their registry value when set to Disabled rather than writing a zero, since a value that is merely present is what trips the Enterprise license check. * Compare editions: add a full feature matrix, keep scenarios separate Connectivity is no longer the main difference between the editions, so the page now has two parts: the scenario matrix it always had, minus the three feature rows that had drifted into it, and a new feature matrix covering editing and refreshing, modeling features, the AI governance and audit controls, and the licensing and support benefits, plus a list of what every edition includes. The matrix is taken from the license-driven feature switches, so it also records that Trial and Consultancy licenses carry the Enterprise feature set, and that an upgrade takes effect without restarting. Modeling Restrictions gains a Desktop column and no longer implies that DirectQuery is restricted by the Tabular Editor 3 edition - that one depends on the server - and says what happens when a model acquires a restricted feature while it is open. * MCP Server: wire in the server dialog, export configuration and change review shots Three of the four screenshots the article was waiting on. The change review shot carries more than it was briefed to: alongside the single "Undo C# script (MCP)" undo entry and the filtered Properties view, the TOM Explorer shows an added, a changed and a deleted measure at once, so the alt text names all three markings rather than just the orange badges. The status bar menu shot is still outstanding and keeps its placeholder comment. * Release notes 3.27.0.0: rewrite from the latest compiled notes, link to feature articles - Merge the newly compiled 3.27.0.0 notes (new hashes; AI Assistant runs scripts directly, unsafe-scripts policy, Snowflake key pair auth, organization Custom Instructions / MCP tool and port policies, four new bugfixes) into the human-friendly public version. - Every feature section now links to its article (MCP server, unsaved changes, auto-reload, policies, Snowflake, AI Assistant sections, ...). - downloads.md / release-history.md: add the 3.27.0.0 entry and fix the download URLs to the published 3.27.0.0 file names. * Release notes 3.27.0.0: condense feature sections to a few paragraphs each * Release notes 3.27.0.0: add 'AI Assistant Generally Available' feature section Folds the run-scripts-directly feature and the AI Assistant improvements (installer default, model list, context window, Custom Instructions, streaming, token tooltip, Deployment label, script safety check, audit record) into one section below MCP Server. * Release notes 3.27.0.0: the AI Assistant leaves preview * MCP Server: add the status bar tooltip shot The delivered capture shows the status bar indicator with its hover tooltip, not the right-click context menu the placeholder asked for, so it goes under the paragraph it actually illustrates: the indicator switching to MCP Started with the address in its tooltip. The context menu placeholder stays, renamed to status-bar-context-menu.png so it no longer collides with the file that just landed. * add ai audit log as a seperate page * new pic, alt text * update screenshots * Update 3.27.0 SHA-256 checksums from build 27.0.0.46 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_013mRkfMGtagAkAWTZgZUqFk * update toc * model picker screenshot * english/american grammer changes, plus minor corrections * update release notes * Release notes 3.27.0.0: fix two typos * add table preview to index --------- Co-authored-by: Daniel Otykier <otykier@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: Daniel Otykier <daniel@tabulareditor.com>
