I am using openvox agent and facter is not installed where its accessible from command line on ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Ideas. Maybe help us non-tech people understand how to install all this mess.

facter CLI is provided by the openfact gem bundled as part of the openvox-agent package for your distro. There is no need to install it separately.

You will find the facter executable at /opt/puppetlabs/puppet/bin/facter once you have installed the OpenVox Agent.

Does it add /opt/puppetlabs/puppet/bin to the path automatically? Is that missing and should be added?

Paths are added, e.g. on Ubuntu, via:

/etc/profile.d/puppet-agent.csh
/etc/profile.d/puppet-agent.sh

Here are the contents of the sh variant:
