Here are some basic thoughts on how to contribute to an open-source book.

The open-source math books hosted on GitHub fall into three major categories:

1. Fully-baked, mature projects suitable for course adoption.

2. Half-baked projects that are in-process. Some may be suitable for classroom testing in whole or in part... Caveat Emptor!

3. Community Projects: contributions are actively sought. Contact the lead author/editor.
