The Psychophysiological Effects of Chronic Stress caused by Cross-Cultural Transactions in Foreign Students in Russia
Analysis code and results for resting heart rate data from longitudinal study of foreign students in Russia.

Participants documented their daily activities through an online diary system hosted on GoogleDrive, recording their actions in 30-minute intervals across predefined categories such as sleeping, exercising, studying, and social interactions, with the option to add comments. The diary interface was available in English.

Data collection also included three waves of surveys (paper and online) measuring demographics, health status, cross-cultural adjustment, motivation, life stress, personality traits, educational satisfaction, and sense of coherence. These surveys were offered in both English and Russian.

To complement these self-report measures, continuous heart rate monitoring was conducted using Sony SmartBand 2 devices. Weekly data exports were securely stored in a cloud database alongside all diary entries and survey responses.
