These changes help running tests in parallel and are what I did to get a decent environment.
I punted on ssl instructions since for all intensive purposes, no developers needs to do this. I only have it setup when I was trying to debug some strange ssl issues.
I put this in the mac section, since they are tuned for a simple mac laptop, but maybe we want at the top for all operating systems?
