Some stuff requires root so do these things for tlp-switcher to work:

delete the contents of: /etc/tlp.conf

run: sudo chmod a+w /etc/tlp.d

and add: my_username ALL = NOPASSWD:/usr/bin/tlp to /etc/sudoers
