[Request] PSX Two-Player Mode

In the original PSX release, there was an option to assign specific characters to either the first or second controller. This allowed two people to play through the game together, albeit only in battles. While limited, it was still an effective way for two people to experience the game together. Memoria's efforts could hopefully see the feature not only restored, but potentially enhanced with additional functionality (field menu support for Player 2, 4-player mode, etc.) However, even an implementation directly based on the PSX release would be greatly appreciated.

I did not see this issue raised yet and was encouraged to bring it up here.

I think having the basic functionality would itself be better but expanded to 4 players and rather than having every character set as a controller, instead set the slots 1-4 to each player (e.g. slot 1 and 2 uses player 1 and slot 3 uses player 2 and slot 4 uses player 3) just as an example but would be more dynamic since there are more playable characters that have been added. No idea how to implement this kind of feature yet since it doesn't exist in any trace for the mobile port of the game, and I don't think we have any bits of the code for the PSX version showing how it was introduced, but maybe @Albeoris would know more since he designed this engine.
