background geolocation error when clicking start - ERROR: GeolocationBG: send: error - location is invalid

I have cloned this repo, changed the paths and deployed to modulus. When using the app within an ios8 build, when I try to turn on background location tracking I get the following in the xcode console:

I've googled around but no ideas, any clues where this is going wrong? Foreground location works fine.

Any chance you can find and edit this file in your meteor install, and add in more debugging to figure out what the location input is exactly? perhaps dump the whole json object as a string:
