video recording quality issue related resolution

Dears,

I am very happy to use NativeCamera and running good, but one issue I need to take care more. I have been set quality as default and get big size of mp4 video 54MB for only 9 sec and I check quality.default set camera resolution is 1080p which is a main issue to make video file so huge.
My question is can we customize setup resolution like 720p during the video recording?

PS. I also try quality.Low in NativeCamera and get very small size video file as 36kb, but quality is so low and resolution is only 144p....

Any information will be appreciated.

Hi, I'm using ACTION_VIDEO_CAPTURE Intent and it supports only minimal customization. In fact it supports only 0 or 1 as quality parameter. There is no way to pass a resolution to it. You're right that it's silly but it is what it is.

Thanks for your response, but this question really got me stumped. since I try the quality in default, Low, Medium, High. It got over 50MB file around 10 seconds length video except Low (Low got terrible resolution is not accepted).
beside the resolution point, do you have any idea can decrease the video file size? As I know, mp4 data format can set quality to decrease file size.

You can google "how to change resolution ACTION_VIDEO_CAPTURE" yourself to see that it isn't possible. Let me know if you find a different result. A workaround would be to re-encode the video file but I don't know how to do that.
