Discussion on governing structure

These are essential questions for trusting and investing in this project. Even if you’re just a single developer, make it transparent.

Start with an “About me/us” page, and open discussion on governance structures.

Probably something like a non-profit foundation with (technical) steering committee, membership tiers and working groups. But this needs to be discussed, in the open.

And as for your second point, lets start discussing some good governance structures! I'm a bit of a novice in large open-source projects so I'm very happy to hear some proposals for membership, committee and working groups. Lets use this issue as a starting point for ideas and this discussion!

For now we have a couple of main contributors that get admin access to merge into versions and main, and we're looking for additional contributors!

Cool, this is a great start. I think a few people got put-off a little because they thought it was some corporation pushing this (with self-interest, etc.). Always good to be transparent.

Since this is still quite small (and maybe smaller than some people thought), I would let this project let this project grow a bit more organically, and than start organizing in a bit more formal structure. Often this will let itself know, for example as soon as (significant) money becomes involved.

For now, a good CONTRIBUTING.md could also help, along with clear guidelines on specification version management (for example, are you following SemVer, numbering scheme, expected release cadence, how breaking changes are approved., etc.).
