Should android-studio-2025.2.2.8-1.fc43's XDG_.*_HOME be chown -R $USER:$USER'd?

run0 dnf5 upgrade --refresh android-studio returns 0 results, so I want to update the package via its in-built updater. Is this feasible without corrupting the package? I ask because, by default, issuetracker.google.com/issues/37024375#comment1 reproduces: ¹
