Opening HEIF-files fails on Win 11 24H2

Hi,

I am having issues opening HEIF-/HEIC-files on Windows 11 24H2 with latest patch level on multiple machines. JPEGview just displays a brief error text in the middle of the window that the file cannot be opened. With the Windows Photo app, HEIC-files open fine.

Sample file is attached, the image was taken with iOS 18.7.1.

How can I help to troubleshoot this?

Thank you for pointing out. I saw that issue, but since the pull request is from july I assumed it is already released.

Is this project still maintained at all? Seems a little bit odd that there is no release since summer 2024 and no comment in the last few issues.
