Lesson 7: Unable to Launch Local RPC Despite Correct Node Version and Ganache Installed

despite running npm install -g ganache-cli and checking that I am using a correct node version , when I run brownie run scripts/deploy_lottery.py I am still getting

Hello it seems your ganache is not working, let's check some points:

• Use node version 16 not 17 (which has problems with web3 stuff)
• Close all your terminals and try again, may be a instance of ganache is blocking the port 8545.
• run just ganache-cli on the terminal, does it works?

Hello, I am in windows and having the same problem. Running ganache-cli does work for me but it automatically corrects to just ganache. How do I change the node to 16? Please help.

Hello @vicentemunozlh
The reason is the npm package for ganache changed recently from ganache-cli to just ganache, so deleting the network and adding it again on brownie should be enough to solve this, of course remember to set cmd=ganache.
