Have GUI always listen, but only show characters pressed during commands

Description

Generally the way that the Scribe-Desktop GUI should function is the following:

• The GUI should always be listening so that it can provide noun-gender annotations and other annotations
• The characters typed shouldn't be entered into the GUI though
• When a command is selected, then the text that the user is typing should be displayed so that they can execute a command on the entered text

Hello! Apologies for the delay, I had been thinking about this and was trying to figure out the best way to allow the app to listen but not retain all inputted chars until required. If @Mounil2005 would like to have a whack at this, I'd be happy to take a look at a PR. :)

Hi @andrewtavis ! Thanks so much for the offer. I was interested in taking this on, but I currently have a few other issues I'm working through and won't be able to commit to this right now. Rather than taking the assignment and leaving it idle, I'll hold off for now. If the issue is still available in the near future, I'd love to come back and work on it. Thanks again!
