On Settings window, Compilation Tab : Theme and CSS form fields are overlapping each others (despite I try to change the window size):

Requirements & Implementation Plan

Root Cause

MPPreferencesViewController.m wraps each tab's content view with fixed-size constraints derived from the XIB frame. Any content that needs more space gets clipped. The fix is to increase container/view dimensions in the XIBs so all content fits.

Decisions

• Fix all three issues
• Increase container heights in XIBs to accommodate content (conservative approach)
• Note: visual verification requires macOS CI since this is a macOS-only app

Requirements & decisions (round 2)

PR #399 attempted this by bumping the fixed pane sizes, but the report persists in French (and now Italian, per the June comment). Root cause confirmed: MPPreferencesViewController.loadView pins each pane's content view to the hard-coded English XIB frame size (centered), so localized text that needs more room clips or overlaps regardless of window size. Two structural XIB issues compound it:

• Editor → Behavior box has a fixed height = 200 constraint, so wrapped checkbox text can't expand the box → last checkbox clipped.
• Compilation/HTML pane ties the "CSS:" label width equal to the "Default path:" label width; in French "Chemin par défaut" is wide, forcing the CSS column wide and shoving its popup into the segmented control → Theme/CSS overlap.

Decisions

1. Content-driven sizing (robust fix). Size each pane to its actual Auto Layout fitting size for the active locale instead of the static XIB frame. Keep the existing resizable + centered-content behavior from Make all preference panels resizable with centered content #364.
2. Make XIBs hug their content so fitting-size is correct: remove the Editor Behavior box's fixed height (anchor to content), allow checkbox labels to wrap/grow, and break the CSS/Default-path width coupling in the HTML pane.
3. Scope: all 5 panes (General, Editor, Compilation/HTML, Markdown, Terminal) audited for the same class of fixed-size/clipping bug.
4. Verification via macOS CI unit tests: load each pane and assert no ambiguous/conflicting layout and that the content fitting-size accommodates the longest localized strings without clipping.
