Add example services for root and nested resources

I'd like to start off by saying that this is a very impressive project and the detailed documentation is awesome. I think one thing that would help initial adopters as well as myself is to show a basic service with GORM integration that illustrates concepts like persistence, validation, exceptions like resource not found, etc. I realize the goal of this is be database agnostic, however, most people would find at least an example referring to GORM attractive.

Maybe I should restructure the question. Could there be an 'example project' that shows off a couple of features of the project such as the items listed above? This could likely be even more helpful.

Thanks! While the included test/test-restful-api application used to test the plugin can serve as an example, I agree it's focused on serving our test purposes and not as a 'real example'. We've received similar requests, and I've started to sketch out a screencast that will walk through creating a new app that exposes endpoints using the plugin. I'll try to bump this up on my todo list! Once I publish a screencast, I'll add links to it from the README.md.
