QA Testing Executive Summary

Task: TASK-614 - Initiatives Page E2E Testing Date: 2026-01-28 Status: ⚠️ INCOMPLETE IMPLEMENTATION

Bottom Line

The Initiatives page has 4 unfixed bugs from iteration 1 and 6 new issues discovered. Core dashboard functionality (trend indicators, time estimates) is completely missing despite being prominently featured in the reference design.

Critical Findings

🔴 All Previous Issues Remain Unfixed

  • QA-001: Task trend hardcoded to 0
  • QA-002: No trend indicators on any stat cards
  • QA-003: Initiative cards missing time estimates
  • QA-004: Grid layout will create 5 columns instead of 2

🟡 New Issues Discovered

  • QA-008 (Medium): Cost calculation uses hardcoded token rates
  • QA-005-007, 009-010 (Low): Accessibility, UX, performance issues

Top 3 Priority Fixes

1. Implement Trend Indicators (QA-002)

What: Calculate and display trends for all stat cards Why: Core feature in reference design, critical for dashboard insight Impact: Users can't see progress over time Effort: ~4 hours (backend data + frontend display)

2. Calculate Time Estimates (QA-003)

What: Add estimatedTimeRemaining to initiative cards Why: Shown prominently in reference design Impact: Users can't plan initiative completion Effort: ~2 hours (calculation logic + prop passing)

3. Fix Grid Layout (QA-004)

What: Change grid from auto-fill to repeat(2, 1fr) Why: Design specifies exactly 2 columns Impact: Cards too narrow on wide screens Effort: ~15 minutes (CSS one-liner)

✓ Page loads without errors ✓ Stat cards display correct values ✓ Initiative cards show progress, cost, tokens ✓ Empty/error/loading states implemented ✓ Mobile responsive design working ✓ Status badges color-coded correctly

Test Methodology Note

Approach: Code analysis against reference design Confidence: 85-100% for code-based issues Limitation: Could not verify visual appearance, console errors, or runtime behavior without live browser testing

Recommendation: Follow up with live browser testing using Playwright to:

  1. Verify actual visual appearance
  2. Check for console errors
  3. Test interaction flows
  4. Capture comparison screenshots

Recommendation

DO NOT MERGE until at least QA-002, QA-003, and QA-004 are fixed.

The page is functionally incomplete compared to the design specification. While the foundation is solid, critical dashboard features are missing.
