Contributing to Beat Protocol

Thank you for your interest! Beat is community-driven from day one.

How to Contribute

1. Developers

Current needs:

  • Android app (Kotlin)
  • iOS app (Swift)
  • Mint server (Node.js/Go/Rust)
  • Cryptography (ZK proofs implementation)
  • UI/UX design

Getting started:

  1. Read WHITEPAPER.md
  2. Check Issues
  3. Comment on an issue you want to work on
  4. Fork, code, submit PR

Code standards:

  • Write tests
  • Document public APIs
  • Follow language conventions
  • Security-first mindset

2. Economists & Researchers

Help needed:

  • Economic simulations (agent-based models)
  • Game theory analysis
  • Social impact studies
  • Academic papers

Process:

  1. Open an issue with your research question
  2. Share findings in /research folder
  3. Discuss with community

3. Designers

Current needs:

  • Logo & visual identity
  • App UI/UX mockups
  • Marketing materials
  • Educational graphics

Submit:

  • Open PR with designs in /design folder
  • Share in Discussions for feedback

4. Writers & Translators

Help with:

  • FAQ expansion
  • Translation to other languages
  • Blog posts
  • Educational content

5. Community Organizers

Want to pilot Beat?

Requirements:

  • 50-200 interested people
  • Geographic concentration
  • 6-month commitment
  • Mix of producers/consumers

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, discrimination, hate speech
  • Spam, trolling, bad faith arguments
  • Violating user privacy
  • Attempting to centralize control
  • Promoting violence or illegal activity

Violations: Immediate ban from project spaces.
