local recorder in app

For those that don't have infrastructure available or skill set to deploy and manage.

Is there an option available currently to record owntracks locally within app to a text file? If not would, it be possible to request this as a feature?

I believe google maps records locally these days and backups to google drive via a text file. For users looking to move away from google maps for location tracking to a foss solution, a feature such as I'm requesting may although them.

This is not possible nor is it a feature that we're about to implement.

I think you'll find plenty of apps for Android which are able to do that.

For anyone else interested in this, this foss app records locally, has a viewer, and can send to owntracks server.
