Tracing Network Issue

Hi, I encountered network error when I set OPENAI_API_KEY for tracing:

[non-fatal] Tracing: request failed: [Errno 99] Cannot assign requested address

How can I fix this?

I've never received this feedback, so this is not a common situation. There could be several potential causes of the error:

1. Your host does not allow accessing the tracing endpoints

To narrow the issue down, could you check this following works?

curl -v https://api.openai.com/v1/traces/ingest
curl -4 -v https://api.openai.com/v1/traces/ingest
curl -6 -v https://api.openai.com/v1/traces/ingest

2. Proxy server configuration may be required

If you're running your app behind proxy servers, additional configurations for uncommon endpoints like this tracing endpoint may be necessary. Check the infra requirements if there are any.

3. (for other visitors) Disable the tracing if you don't use it

I don't think this could be the case for you, but if you really don't need the tracing integration, you can disable it by:

export OPENAI_AGENTS_DISABLE_TRACING=1

or

from agents import set_tracing_disabled
set_tracing_disabled(True)
