How_to_Generate_Earthdata_Prerequisite_Files.ipynb: code first, then blah blah?  #117

Description

@brianmapes

A student and I used this today.

It seems inscrutable and perverse that this Interactive Python notebook
/How_to_Generate_Earthdata_Prerequisite_Files.ipynb
FIRST spends many many screenfuls of tedious text on explaining the inside baseball and detailing old, manual methods in terminals (which many students are not facile with), for all the various operating systems, before FINALLY PRESENTING THE CODE WHOSE EXECUTION DOES THE THING as section 2?

Might I suggest:

  1. FIRST RUN THIS CELL, AND THEN THIS ONE WHICH PROMPTS FOR YOUR CREDENTIALS THEN A THIRD WHICH TESTS IT SUCCEEDED. IF SO YOU ARE DONE FOREVER, GO BACK TO YOUR SCIENCE AND DELETE THIS NOTEBOOK.

  2. IF THAT FAILED, try another package called earthaccess which nobody has (so you have too install it to your environment, blah blah)

  3. IF YOU ARE STILL STUCK, here are offline manual methods and all the reasons for the names for the magic talisman files and how to interpret errors and blah blah blah forever cuz at that point everyone is done and nobody could care once it works, this whole thing is 100% obstacle and waste of time for actual data users which is supposed to be the whole point.
