Unmatched single quote

I'm getting errors such as:

err: Could not prefetch printer provider 'cups': Unmatched single quote: ' printer-state=3 printer-state-change-time=1347391485 printer-state-reasons=none printer-type=8433692 printer-uri-supported=ipp://localhost:631/printers/dell

when location contains an apostrophe such as:

location => "John's office"

This is NOT a critical issue for me, but thought you might like to know about it.

Ahh, puppet uses single quotes to escape all the command line parameters.. I'll have to do my own escaping, thanks for the catch!

Taking a deeper look: this happens on the second+ run involving an option that is quoted and contains a quote. The reason is that lpoptions prints out the enclosing quotes and the quote in the string i.e printer-location='John's office', and ruby's Shellwords can't interpret the unclosed quote mark.

In the short term I'm just going to have to write a note about not using single quotes, but ultimately I'll have to use a different module for parsing the options.

I figured as much, but then got wholly confused because the debug output doesn't show those quotes at all, except for the embedded one used for the possessive form of my name. When I first saw the debug output, my reaction was, of course it doesn't work. But further study showed that debug output had to be unrepresentative because the error message didn't fit. Is that a fault of this module or puppet itself?

The debug output of the command is kind of a misrepresentation. Every single parameter is quoted again, but those quotes don't show in the debug log.
