Changes between 4.8.3 and 4.9.0 Beta 2

  • Accessibility
    • Improved Insert into active window. For faster text insertion, adjust the Text to window method in the advanced settings. The new options simulate Ctrl+V keystrokes, allowing text to be pasted immediately after STT recognition. To enable pasting in terminals, you can also select the Ctrl+Shift+V mode.
    • Improved clipboard text reading under Wayland. You can now use the start-reading-clipboard action or a global keyboard shortcut to read text from the clipboard, even when the app window is in the background - removing previous Wayland restrictions.
    • Read selected text from active window. You can now read selected text from any active window using the new start-reading-active-window action or a global keyboard shortcut. This feature automatically copies the selected text (simulating Ctrl+C) and reads it aloud using TTS.
  • User Interface
    • Setting option to force the English language in the user interface
    • Speech Note has been translated into Portuguese-Brazilian language.
  • Speech to Text
    • Inline timestamps in text output. A new output format is now available, displaying timestamps that show when each segment of text was recognized in the audio. To enable new format set Text format to Inline timestamps. You can also customize the timestamp interval and format in the settings.
