  • I have searched for my issue and not found a work-in-progress/duplicate/resolved issue.
  • I have not been informed if the issue is resolved in a preview version of the winget client.

Category of the issue

Installation issue.

Brief description of your issue

I am using winget to update the package I originally installed manually.
Everytime, I lose my originally enabled setting - windows Integration in my case (components: ext,ext\shellhere,ext\guihere).
Because package force components, it ignore the already elected one and override.
I would suspect it also cause issue to anyone with different settings that the one in the package, therefore would not recommend hardcoding component in there.

I understand the original requests to have Windows Terminal integration enabled by default - but it is forcing an issue on everyone else, and I would kindly request if we can remove that forced component list.

Steps to reproduce

Install an older version of the package manually with Windows integration enabled.
Update with winget - windows integration is gone.

Actual behavior

Windows integration is removed after updating the package using winget.

Expected behavior

Windows integration to be preserved after upgrade.
