Hi @mattlong,
I'm opening this issue to kindly ask whether you'd consider transferring the hermes namespace on PyPI to us, seeing that your project hasn't seen new commits for 10 years.
"Us" is the HERMES research project. We're developing a Python CLI tool to automate the publication of research software project (i.e., software projects that are developed and used in academic research) to open access publication repositories (a well-known example here is Zenodo, run at CERN in Switzerland). Developers of research software rely on publications of their software for academic evaluation and building a career path in science, and our project makes it easier for them to publish their software using continuous integration, and provide rich metadata so that they can receive academic credit for their work, and their software can be found more easily and reused. This also avoids wasting precious resources on re-developing something that already exists.
PEP 541 details how name transfers may work, and we'd like to open this process through this issue. In accordance to the PEP, we'll also try to reach you by email.
Thanks for your consideration and all the best!
