KA Lite doesn't start on Windows 10 - python crashes

Summary

We have 2 different issues on the Community Forum, however they could both be related to process crashes?

The first issue makes it somewhat evident that

I can't reproduce this issue in windows 10 64 bit VM using KA Lite 0.17.1 release installer.

I'm also unable to reproduce these issues on vanilla Win10 VM: no error messages, no blocked processes, no apparent memory leaks... 😞

Without some additional input from the system where this occurs, not sure how to proceed debugging.

Is it possible that all these reports are caused by a wrong/broken Python installation?

I found no way to replicate this particular issue on any W10 VM I worked so far, and felt wretchedly useless... 😞

However, after reading the post on the forum, I'm so happy @benjaoming nailed it, and received some very deserved love from a frustrated user at the end... 👍

Yeah, I guess we have no conclusive evidence.

Can you Windows experts think of a reason that several Windows 10 users would end up with a broken/32 bit Python 2.7 installation in cases where they should've had a 64 bit? Like, why would reinstalling Python fix things? Are we suggesting a broken Python during the setup?

According to report's server.log, it might be freezing while running migrations, but needs to be verified. Have requested for the issue to be moved to community forums.

@benjaoming I thought it was just me but when I try to install KA-Lite on a Windows 10 VM, it sometimes freezes. And when I press the Enter key, it proceeds to the next step.

@mrpau-eduard it seems this issue happens after installation is complete but at the first start-up?
