v3.0 is dead, long live v3.0!

Hey everyone 👋🏻

We won't be continuing work on the current 3.0 branch of the Python SDK.

We still think better OpenTelemetry support is important -- and we now have a better way to achieve that goal, one that doesn't require a new major release. So stay tuned for baked-in OTLP support soon. 🚀

That being said, we're opening a new 3.0 branch to port most of the non-OpenTelemetry-related changes to. So there will be a v3.0 in some time, and it'll be similar to the current alpha versions out there in terms of API surface and manual changes necessary to upgrade to it. (As always, we're trying to keep the amount of breaking changes as low as possible though for a smooth upgrade experience.)
